Trauma

Trauma can suddenly be encountered in our lives. This can impede our lives so seriously that we lose perspective. The fact that violent events do occur in our society has a serious impact on the well being of people – in fact the treatment of victims after trauma is a proven way off improving the functioning.

Tienie is an experienced psychotherapist in dealing with victims of trauma. Trauma is a very “up-close-and –personal” experience most of the time and requires sensitivity and skill to move forward.

Tienie delivers psychotherapeutic services in hospitals with patients in distress/ and under duress. Where trauma is encountered within the framework of serious illnesses, Tienie delivers psychosocial services to patients and families.

Facets of Psychotherapy after trauma:

  • Creation of safety
  • Working through the trauma
  • The identification and treatment of co-morbidity
  • Resolving conflicts and forgiveness.
